How to Fix Low Content Engagement

What if you’ve been creating the wrong content?

It’s something most of us don’t realize until we’ve spent weeks (or months) posting consistently and the reach is still low, you’re getting few reactions, and nobody’s commenting.

If you're feeling stuck, it might not be your consistency—or your creativity.
It might be your content strategy.

Many creators focus so much on chasing algorithms, trends, and timing that they forget the most important part of building content that actually connects: listening to the people it’s for.

Instead of guessing what to post—ask.

That’s where real audience research begins. Here’s how to boost engagement by asking better questions:

Use Instagram polls, question boxes, and comment prompts.
Try:

-       “What’s been hard for you this week?”

-       “What would help you move forward right now?”

-       “If I made something just for you—what would you want it to do?”

Review your DMs, reviews, or past comments.
Look for common words, frustrations, or questions. Those are gold for writing relatable content.

·   Create content around their language.
If your audience says, “I don’t know what to say online,” make a post called “What to Say When You Don’t Know What to Say Online.”
That’s how you build trust—and content that people care about.

·   Use audience insights to shape offers.
When your message reflects your audience’s real-life needs, they’re more likely to click, comment, share, and … BUY.

Before you build your next content calendar or plan your next launch, don’t build it in isolation.

Ask first. Create second.

That’s how you fix low engagement, create better content, and build a brand that feels like a conversation instead of sales pitch or billboard.
